Welcome to Grandmother's Wedding Trunk

Company Name The name of the store, Grandmother's Wedding Trunk, came from my owning the trunk that my grandmother used on her honeymoon. At the shop I feature it with a picture of her and my grandfather on their wedding day, January 15, 1900.

Antique lovers have been practicing "Green" way before it became a buzz word

Antique lovers have been practicing
I started collecting antiques when I was 20 years old and moved into my first apartment. I couldn't afford high priced furniture and was drawn to those things that had character. I didn't even think about the fact that I was helping to save trees and preserve history. I now love and cherish antiques. I love the memories and feelings that they evoke and the fact that we can touch history, physically touch it. I wish that antiques could tell their story. I'd like to talk to the woman who pulled the drawer open on her cupboard so many times that it has formed permanent grooves, the child that lay in the field cradle while the caretaker tilled the earth, the lady that powdered her nose using a beautifully embellished compact or the man who proudly served our country while wearing the WWI uniform.

Our Shop

Our Shop
The individuals that come into my shop have one thing in common. They are each on the hunt for that one right period piece and they are seeking memories of days when things were simpler, slower and there was integrity and pride in the craftsmanship that is lacking in today's processes. I hear the same comments over and over again, "Oh, I remember this," or "My grandmother had this in her kitchen." Another comment is, "You can't find this today!"
